Hometown reveal they'll last longer than Westlife, because they have 'the ability to perform live'

Louis Walsh’s new boyband Hometown have insisted they already have a plan to last in the business longer than Westlife.

The six-piece boyband have insisted their “ability to perform acoustic and live” will give them longevity in the music biz.

Unlike their predecessors Westlife, the lads hope to take a leaf out of One Direction’s book and write their own stuff in the future.

“The focus is to get the pro’s in the beginning, but I’m sure we’ll learn,” Cian said.

“One thing that One Direction did really well, from the point that we look up to, is that they went through the song-writing programme.

“On the first album, like us, they didn’t write anything and as they progressed, there was more and more.”

“By the fourth album, there are only two that they aren’t on. That’s something that we would like to look towards and do,” the band told the RTE Guide.

Despite their debut single Where I Belong being released only in Ireland so far, the lads have already found a few fans as far away as Sweden and America thanks to social media.

“Even when we started out and we were just putting covers on YouTube, there were people from England and Sweden watching them,” they added.

“We hadn’t even had a song out at this stage. We have girls tweeting us from America asking us to come over there. It’s crazy what can happen on Twitter.”
