Fight Like Apes reveal Tina Turner is a huge fan

Fight Like Apes have revealed that Tina Turner is a big fan of their music.

The indie Irish rock band named their 2009 album after the dancing Diva, The Body of Christ And The Legs Of Tina Turner and revealed she allowed them use her infamous name.

“Yeah, she said we were able to use it. She was sound,” said Mary Kate Geraghty vocalist for the band.

Eighties: Jamie and Mary Kate are inspired by the disco era

Jamie Fox who does keyboard and and vocals also added that The Body of Christ was inspired by a dream.

“He came to me in a vision. Everyone was cool,” he said.

Fight Like Apes self-titled album contains some catchy names songs like Pretty Keen On Centrefolds, The Hunk and the Funpalace and I Don’t Want To Have To Mate With You.

No limits: The band revealed they take inspiration from 80’s bands

“We used to use longer titles to stand out but after a while, it becomes expected,” Jamie explained to the Irish Independent.

The twosome take inspiration from 80’s bands like Talk Talk and Soft Cell.

“There are no limitations,” Jamie says of their music.
