Celtic Woman receive debut Grammy nomination

The awards take place early next year

Celtic Woman have received a huge honour – a Grammy nomination.

The awards, which take place on February 12th next year, will be hosted by funny man James Corden.

“There are no words to describe the excitement within the Celtic Woman camp upon hearing the news yesterday, that our album Destiny has been nominated for a Grammy Award,” the musical ensemble, made up of four female musicians, said.

Grammy: Celtic Woman have been nominated in the Best World Music Category

Celtic Woman have been nominated in the Best World Music Category against four other groups, including Yo-Yo Ma & The Silk Road Ensemble for their album Sing Me Home.

The group is made up of members Máiréad Carlin, Susan McFadden, Éabha McMahon and Tara McNeill.

“To say we are proud would be an absolute understatement. This is another milestone for Celtic Woman in what has been an incredible journey so far,” the singers said about their nomination.

“We’d like to thank you all for your continued support over the last 12 years.”
