Beyoncé set to receive huge sum as new album becomes most streamed of 2024

Beyoncé is set to receive a sum of $30 million, as her new album became the most streamed record of 2024 after just one day.

The highly anticipated album, Cowboy Carter, sees the pop queen try her hand at the country music genre.

The 27-track record features collabs with country icons like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, along with stars like Miley Cyrus and Post Malone, and has been met with rave reviews.

In a bid to rejuvenate country music, Beyoncé has tapped into the $3 billion-a-year genre, which has seen a steady growth in fans and artists.

A music industry source told The Sun: “Beyoncé has cleverly tapped into a hugely lucrative area which is often ignored by artists from other genres.”

“She’s bulldozed the door down and reworked the style and sound perfectly.

They continued: “It’s estimated that her eighth album is going to be one of her most commercially successful to date, invigorating not only her existing fans, but those loyal to the country genre as well.”

“It’s a genius move, which she has pulled off with aplomb and intelligence by really doing her homework and justice to the genre.”

Amid the release of her new album, Beyoncé sent thoughtful gifts of a huge bouquet of flowers to black female country artists.

Singer Mickey Guyton received the generous gift, and took to Instagram to personally thank Beyoncé.

She said: “With opportunity comes possibility. The possibilities are endless with you @beyonce. God gave me an assignment and I followed. May the doors continue to stay wide open.”

Before the release of her eighth studio album, Beyoncé said on Instagram that it was born from an experience where she “did not feel welcome.”

She added this experience inspired her to do a deep dive into the history of country music.

The Grammy winner continued to say that she was honoured to become the first black woman to top Billboard’s country chart with Texas Hold ’Em – the lead single off the new album.

She hopes that an artist’s race — in relation to music genres — will one day become “irrelevant”.
