The latest film to hit Irish cinemas has done fantastically

The top 10 films of the last weekend are in, and it’s no surprise that J.K. Rowling’s new film has done fantastically well climbing to the top spot.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them hit Irish cinemas on Friday 18th of November and raked in almost €1 million at the box office with €955,609.

The Harry Potter spin off knocked Trolls off the top spot – as the movie made a fraction of their earnings during the week, with just €144,221.

Fantastic film: Eddie Redmayne’s new film shot to the top making almost €1million at the box office | WARNER BROS

It’s hard to beat Eddie Redmayne’s latest film, but it’s clear people are already feeling very festive as composer Andre Rieu’s Christmas With Andre 2016 landed at third on the list – as it brought in €140,736 over the weekend.

Following close behind was Amy Adam’s Arrival with €123,772- just over half of what it brought in the weekend before when it claimed the top spot with €214,560.

Previous big hitter Doctor Strange is less triumphant than before as it dropped down three spots from number four down to number seven with €41,759.

Michael Fassbender’s The Light Between Oceans has also had a less than impressive weekend dropping down to number nine with €20,841.
