Popular actress hotly tipped to be next Bond girl alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Sydney Sweeney is hotly tipped to be next Bond girl alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Amid reports the British actor will be the next 007, the Anyone But You star has emerged as the surprise favourite to star opposite him.

According to betideas.com, the American actress leads the market at 3/1 to be awarded the role when the newest reboot occurs, while Millie Bobby Brown (6/1) is second in the market.

In terms of who will sit behind the cameras, Cary Joji Fukunaga is the 5/2 favourite to direct the next Bond film after overseeing Daniel Craig’s last 007 outing with No Time To Die, while Edgar Wright (4/1) is second in the market.

Neil Roarty, spokesperson for betideas.com, said: “With Aaron-Taylor Johnson seemingly on the verge of being confirmed as the newest 007, our attention turns to other roles yet to be filled in the next James Bond film.

“The race to be cast as the next Bond girl could be one of the more interesting subplots, with Sydney Sweeney (3/1) and Millie Bobby-Brown (6/1) the two high-profile frontrunners for the casting.

“Away from the screen, No Time To Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga is the 5/2 favourite to take the reins for a second successive Bond excursion, though the franchise could also explore a slightly different genre with Edgar Wright (4/1).”

Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You alongside Glen Powell

Earlier this week, it was reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had been “formally offered the opportunity” to play the iconic British spy.

However, the 33-year-old has not officially accepted the role as of yet.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone UK magazine, the actor opened up about his thoughts on playing 007.

Aaron spoke to the outlet about his previous role in a Marvel movie, and said: “I don’t necessarily want this to be my brand, doing one action movie after another.

“But I trained to the point where I was 200 pounds of muscle. I ate so much f**king food. I was so big.

“I’m doing normal life; dentist appointments. Career doesn’t necessarily take a back seat, but it takes a different thought behind the choices that you make.

“But you also discover characters you’re drawn to because of that, you’re not just some 20-year-old anymore. You unlock some secret thing… I don’t want a jobbing career.”

“You realise it’s your job to protect the purest, most innocent thing that’s come into the world. And it’s your duty to be their role model,” he explained.

“You are going to be reflected in their choices later on in life, from who their partners are to how they carry themselves in the world.”

If Aaron accepts the opportunity, he will be the seventh actor to take on the lead in the Bond franchise.

According to The Sun: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.”

“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
