Mad Men's Jessica Pare 'couldn't understand a word ANYONE was saying' while filming with Brian Gleeson in Ireland

Mad Men star Jessica Pare couldn’t understand the Dublin accent while filming a new romantic comedy in Ireland.

The Canadian actress – who plays Megan Draper in the series – was left confused while working on Standby.

Co-star Brian Gleeson said he “got on very well” with the Hollywood beauty, 33, but that there were cultural differences as soon as she arrived.

He said: “It was her first time here and she said she couldn’t understand a word anyone was saying.”

The Love/Hate star’s character tries to rekindle an old summer romance with the American, played by Jessica, who unexpectedly turns back up in Ireland.

And Brian, 27, told the Herald they still now keep in touch by email – and that he took her out in Dublin.

He said: “We went out in Dublin a couple of times, but I’m not sure if I took her for a kebab.”

Romantic: Brian convinces Jessica’s character to stay another day

Meanwhile Brian said that he expects Standby to be able to sell abroad easily.

“Standby is not ‘Irish’ or anything like that. There’s a lightness of touch with the whole thing and I think that comes across with how it portrays Dublin,” he said.

“It’s one of those films where Dublin looks great, but we’re poking a bit of fun of it. This could travel well, fingers crossed.”

It comes as Brian will soon be seen taking to the stage with dad Brendan and older brother Domhnall in The Walworth Farce.
