The 45-year-old – who put her house up for sale to make the flick – has had great success in Ireland but is ready to take on the career she’s always wanted.

She said: “To be honest, I’m hoping that the film, particularly when the US release happens, will give me a career, the one I’ve always wanted.”

The Moone Boy star feels she has done her fair share of grafting in the industry and is ready to take the easy road.

“I’m tired now and I’d just love to be hired and have the easy road for a while.

“To be in demand, for the phone to ring, to have a choice in what to do, they’re the luxuries. That’s success.”

And Deirdre confessed she gets a lot of time off work, but it’s not always by choice.
