Tributes pour in for Breaking Bad actor Mark Margolis – who has died aged 83

Tributes have been pouring in for Breaking Bad actor Mark Margolis, who has died aged 83.

The Hollywood actor was best known for his role as wheelchair-bound Hector Salamanca in the crime drama, a crime boss who was unable to speak and communicated using only a hotel reception-style bell.

Mark’s son Morgan announced the news that the late 83-year-old had died on August 3 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City following a short illness.

After news of his death broke, well-known faces and fans alike have flocked to pay tribute to Mark.

Breaking Bad’s official X account penned: “We join millions of fans in mourning the passing of the immensely talented Mark Margolis, who – with his eyes, a bell, and very few words – turned Hector Salamanca into one of the most unforgettable characters in the history of television. He will be missed.”

Actor Giancarlo Esposito wrote: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend and dynamic human Mark Margolis. You made me laugh, made me cry doubled over with laughter, but more than anything you made me think. Always honest, always true. I will miss you. I am grateful to have had time with you.”

Meanwhile, Max Arciniega said: “R.I.P Mark Margolis 🙏🏼 It was an honor to have shared the screen with this powerhouse, and an honor to listen to the stories he shared about his family and his career. Rest easy, Don Hector.”
