Stanley Tucci reveals he was diagnosed with cancer three years ago

Stanley Tucci has revealed he was diagnosed with tongue cancer three years ago.

The actor, who lost his first wife Kate to breast cancer in 2009, opened up about his health battle in a candid new interview with Vera magazine.

The 60-year-old told the publication: “It was too big to operate, so they had to do high-dose radiation and chemo.”

“I’d vowed I’d never do anything like that, because my first wife died of cancer, and to watch her go through those treatments for years was horrible,” he added.

Stanley shares two children with his late wife Kate, and two children with his second wife Felicity Blunt.

The Devil Wears Prada star said: “The kids were great, but it was hard for them. I had a feeding tube for six months. I could barely make it to the twins’ high school graduation.”

According to the publication, it is unlikely Stanley’s cancer will come back.

The Supernova star explained: “[Cancer] makes you more afraid and less afraid at the same time. I feel much older than I did before I was sick. But you still want to get ahead and get things done.”
