U2’s Adam Clayton has been linked to a new woman, after announcing his divorce from his wife of 10 years Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho.
The 64-year-old has sparked romance rumours with Lainey Sheridan-Young, 39, who he’s been spotted out and about with in recent weeks.
The pair both attended a lunch hosted by Corinthia London last week, and Adam reportedly brought Lainey as his plus one to the relaunch of Sushisamba a few days prior.
A source told The Sun: “Adam and Lainey came to the dinner together and were very close. They were very tactile with each other and seemed incredibly happy together.
“His relationship with Mariana ended some time back, way before he and Lainey grew close.”
Back in February, Lainey also shared photos from one of U2’s concerts at the Las Vegas Sphere on her Instagram page.
The 39-year-old works as a brand consultant and script writer, and is also mother to two sons.
The news comes after the famous bassist announced his shock split from his Brazilian wife Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho, after 10 years of marriage.
The former couple tied the knot in a quiet registry office wedding in September 2013, after four years of dating.
Four years later, the pair welcomed daughter Alba into the world in July 2017.
At the end of April, a spokesperson for Adam told the Sunday World: “After more than 10 years of marriage, musician Adam Clayton and lawyer Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have amicably divorced.”
“Both will continue to be fully involved in the care of their daughter and they request that the family’s privacy be respected.”
In July 2017 the couple placed a sweet ad in The Irish Times announcing the birth of their daughter.
The piece read: “Adam and Mariana Clayton are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl Alba.”
The rockstar is also father to a son, who was born in 2010, from a previous relationship.
Adam was also once engaged to supermodel Naomi Campbell for a brief period in 1994.
The couple appeared on The Late Late Show together where they announced their engagement.
However, their relationship ended that same year.
In 2006, Adam got engaged again, this time to Suzie Smith, the former assistant of Paul McGuinness, the band’s manager.
However, Suzie and Adam split up a year later in February 2007.
