Michelle Rodriguez is threatening to leave the Fast and Furious franchise

Michelle Rodriguez is considering quitting the Fast and Furious movies.

The actress has played the character of Letty in five movies in the saga over the past 16 years.

And Michelle called out the films on Instagram for giving female cast-members far smaller roles than their male counterparts.

“F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one,” she wrote.

“Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It’s been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love.”

Michelle has discussed the issue in the past with Entertainment Weekly, explaining that she would love a female screenwriter to pen the dialogue for the women in the movie.

“I’ve been making movies with Jordana [Brewster], who plays the sister of Dom Toretto [Vin Diesel], for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I’ve had to her. I think that’s pathetic and [shows a] lack of creativity,” she said.

Elsa Pataky and Gal Gadot have also appeared in the franchise, while Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron joined the cast for the eighth and most recent movie The Fate of the Furious.
