Lil Wayne concert evacuated due to alleged violence in the audience

Lil Wayne’s concert in Atlanta was evacuated last night due to alleged violence in the audience.

The rapper was taken off-stage after performing just three songs at the AC3 Festival, as there was an “altercation” during the gig.

The official Twitter account for the festival told fans: “There was an altercation tonight that ended Lil Wayne’s performance.”

“We are still collecting information to determine what exactly happened and will provide follow up information as soon as we know more details,” the festival Tweeted.

“Please be assured that the law enforcement officers present have confirmed that there were no weapons involved. This is a very unfortunate way to end what had been an otherwise amazing week of music, friendships, and connections.”

“Thank you to everyone for your amazing support and positive energy all week. We love y’all,” the statement concluded.

According to The Guardian, the police reported that “it appears that someone in the crowd … yelled that they heard gunshots. This caused people at the event to attempt to flee the location.”

They also revealed that “approximately 12” concert-goers were left with minor injuries.

Lil Wayne took to Twitter after the event and told fans: “Hope everyone at AC3 is safe!! ????????”

Many fans shared videos of the chaotic scenes as they tried to flee the festival.

One fan said: “We ran for our life. Didn’t hear any gun shots but there was definitely a lot of people injured. Hope everyone made it home safe.”

While another tweeted a video leaving the concert and wrote: “I don’t know if they were shooting at the lil Wayne concert #a3cfestival but something happened that it ended fast!”
