Jimmy Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney reveals why she will ‘never win an argument’ in her house again

Jimmy Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney has revealed why she will “never win an argument” in her house again.

The famous late-night presenter hosted the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 10th.

During one of his many hit monologues throughout the ceremony, Jimmy made a controversial decision to poke fun at former president of the US, Donald Trump.

However, the risky move paid off and the crowd erupted in laughter as Jimmy spoke.

In a post-event interview, Molly told Variety magazine: “I’m really not proud of this, but I tried to talk Jimmy out of reading that,”

“I feel like my instincts are usually right, but I was totally off on that,” she admitted.

Molly is an executive producer on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and added: “I said, ‘Please don’t read this.”

When her husband asked why he shouldn’t, she explained: I just don’t want to give Trump airtime in the Oscars. This is the one time we don’t have to talk about him. We talk about him every night… This night is not about him and it’s not about politics.”

“My second thought was just the risk, like the show was going well! I just wanted to make sure it ended well, and didn’t want it to end on a sour note.”

However, he pushed back and Molly noted: “He had a glimmer in his eye, and he said, ‘I got this,'”

“He really did. This is where he shines,” she gushed.

“I will tell you, I’m never going to win an argument in my household again!”

The monologue poking fun at Trump came about after the host was made aware that the former President had been bashing the awards online.

On Truth Social, Donald called the show “boring” and asked if there had “ever been a worse host.”

The comic hilariously responded to the insults on stage and then expressed surprise that he was even awake to watch the show and asked: “Isn’t it past your jail time?”
