Ireland Baldwin defends Hailey and Justin Bieber after they’re mocked by Selena Gomez fans

Ireland Baldwin has defended Hailey and Justin Bieber, after they were were mocked by Selena Gomez fans at the Met Gala.

Justin and Selena dated on-and-off for years, before the Canadian singer rekindled his romance with Hailey in 2018.

In July 2018, Justin proposed to the model during a trip to the Bahamas, and they secretly tied the knot that September.

One year later, the couple exchanged vows for the second time at a star-studded ceremony in South Carolina.

The pair attended the 2021 Met Gala together, with Hailey stepping out in a black gown from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, while her husband wore a dark suit with a Drew suitcase.

As they posed for photos on the red carpet, fans in the crowd started chanting “Selena! Selena!”, with onlooker taking to TikTok to share footage of the incident.

Hailey’s cousin Ireland rushed to the comment section to defend the couple, writing: “They’re one of the happiest and most in love couples I’ve ever gotten the chance to be around.”

Ireland added the crowd hadn’t affected the couple, saying: “They don’t care about them,” with a laughing emoji.

Selena has previously asked her fans to be kinder on social media, saying in an Instagram Live: “I do not stand for women tearing women down and I will never, ever be by that so please be kind to everyone.”

“It doesn’t matter what the situation is. If you’re my fans, don’t be rude to anybody, please. Don’t go off and say things that you just feel in the moment. Just please, for me,” the former Disney Channel star pleaded.

“Know that that’s not my heart and my heart is only to release things that I feel that are me and I’m proud of. That’s all that I’ll say.”
