Harrison Ford will NOT face punishment over plane landing blunder

Harrison Ford won’t face discipline or penalties after he mistakenly flew over a jetliner and landed his plane on a taxiway.

The actor landed his plane on an active runway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County in February, and came very close to an American Airlines flight with 116 passengers waiting to take off.

The Federal Aviation Administration has now closed its investigation into the matter and Harrison will not be fined or lose his license.

“The FAA conducted a full investigation into the matter, including an interview with Mr. Ford, and determined that no administrative or enforcement action was warranted. Mr. Ford retains his pilot’s certificate without restriction,” a statement from the star’s attorney read.

“In closing the matter, the agency acknowledged Mr. Ford’s long history of compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and his cooperative attitude during the investigation.

“Mr. Ford has held a pilot’s certificate for more than 20 years, has logged more than 5,000 hours in the air, and has never been the subject of an FAA administrative or enforcement action.”

In a recording of his communication with air traffic control after the incident, the 74-year-old said, “I’m the schmuck who landed on the taxiway. I was distracted by the airliner which was in movement when I turned to the runway, and also the wake turbulence from the landing Airbus.”
