Donald Trump’s mugshot goes viral after his arrest

Donald Trump’s mugshot has gone viral on social media.

The 77-year-old turned himself into police in Georgia earlier this week, after being indicted on charges of election interference.

The 45th President of the United States of America was booked in a jail in Atlanta and had a mugshot taken, before being released on a $200,000 bond after just 20 minutes.

Users of X, formerly known as Twitter, have run wild over the historic moment, as it’s the first ever mugshot of a former US president.

The 77-year-old made his return to the social media platform on Friday, over two years after his ban in January 2021.

The former US president shared his mugshot, writing: “Mug shot – August 24, 2023. Election interference. Never surrender!”

Hi son, Donald Trump Jr., also shared his father’s mugshot, cryptically writing: “Hey Deep State – He’s coming for you. See you on January 20th, 2025.”

Donald has adamantly denied the 13 charges against him – including conspiracy and racketeering.

These charges are part of the fourth indictment the former US president faces.

They come as his lead in the 2024 Republican primary race continues to climb; According to the latest national polls, he’s around 40 points clear in the race for the GOP nomination.
