Bebe Rexha has confirmed her split from her boyfriend of three years Keyan Safyari, after he allegedly texted her about her “weight gain”.
Last month, the songstress took to her Instagram Stories to share text messages allegedly from Keyan – in which he said she “gained 35 pounds” and that her face had “changed”.
The text read: “Hey. I never said you weren’t beautiful and I never said I didn’t love you. In fact I said how beautiful you are and how much I loved you. But I always said I would be honest with you and your face was changing so I told you it was.”
The text continued: “That was the conversation we were having and you asked…. Because I care, would you rather I lied to you? You gained 35 pounds obviously you gained weight and your face changes? Should I just pretend it didn’t happen and that it’s ok?”
“Come on I gain 3 pounds and you called me chubbs and fat. Doesn’t mean you don’t love me. If you’re trying to find reasons to break up this makes sense… but it’s not the real reason.”
“If you’re unhappy with me/yourself/with life and don’t see a future with us then that’s ok and that’s the reason. Don’t use something like that to weaponize your anger or anxiety or any insecurity you may have. You know I always found you to be beautiful and loved you no matter what.”
“I think it’s important for you to think about things and write things down, speak to a therapist and do this retreat thing to get to the root of the problem. Let me know if you’d like to speak if you need more clarity. Love you.”
Bebe confirmed her split from Keyan, who she started dating in 2020, during her Bebe Rexha: Best F’n Night Of My Life performance in London.
While introducing her song ‘Atmosphere’, the 33-year-old told the crowd: “Now I just went through a breakup so I might get a little emotional, so you need to help me here.”
After reading a sign from a fan that said: “You are enough”, Bebe said: “You really are trying to make a bitch cry.”
It comes after Bebe addressed “upsetting” commentary about her weight.
The singer took to Twitter back in April to share a screenshot of a TikTok video, where the trending search bar inside the comment section read: “bebe rexha weight”.
The 33-year-old wrote: “Seeing that search bar is so upsetting. I’m not mad cause it’s true. I did gain weight. But it just sucks. Thank you to all the people who love me no matter what.”
Responding to Bebe’s tweet, one fan wrote: “You are perfect and beautiful Bebe! I’m sending you an extra huge hug for any, even tiny bit this upset your heart!”
Another wrote: “this is heartbreaking. why does something always have to mention weight when it comes to females. i’ll never understand it. we love you bee.”
