Ariana Grande’s drummer speaks out after Manchester terror attack

Ariana Grande’s drummer Aaron Spears has spoken out after the terrorist attack that claimed 22 lives at the Manchester Arena on Monday night.

The 23-year-old pop star and her band had just left the stage when a suicide bomber detonated a device that killed 22 people and injured over 50 as fans made their way out of the arena.

Ariana’s drummer has now told how he’s “still just in disbelief” after the terrifying incident that shocked the world.

Taking to Instagram, Aaron posted a photo of the venue, writing, “We finished the show and were walking back to our dressing rooms and BOOM!!!! We could hear people panicking…We had no idea what was happening.”

? @mic.moody We finished the show and were walking back to our dressing rooms and BOOM!!!! We could hear people panicking…We had no idea what was happening…There was all kinds of speculation as to what was going on…Like 5 minutes after getting to the room, security came in and informed us that we had to evacuate the building immediately…It was then that we realized that this was serious…Initially we thought that the sound was all kinds of things but it didn’t hit that this was a bomb until we were evacuated and they told us exactly what was going on…It’s so heartbreaking because so many little ones attend our shows…I just keep thinking about them…I’m extremely thankful that no one on the touring crew was physically hurt but this painful memory and the weight associated with the lives lost will live with us all forever…I’m still just in disbelief….It’s so surreal…#prayformanchester #positvevibesonly #wearestrongertogether #thankyouallforthelove

Shaken: Ariana has returned to her hometown – and it’s unclear if her tour will go ahead | INSTAGRAM

Yesterday, Ariana was pictured returning to her hometown of Boca Raton in Florida with her mum Joan.

Ariana is scheduled to perform on Thursday at London’s O2 Arena, however, it’s not yet known if her Dangerous Woman tour will proceed as reports yesterday suggested that it was “postponed indefinitely”.

A rep for the O2 Arena said, “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the terrible tragedy in Manchester. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected and their families. We are in contact with the promoters of Ariana Grande’s tour and will update as soon as we have further information regarding the planned dates at The O2.”
