Fans of Love/Hate were given hope last night as reports suggested a new season of the show was in development.
However, RTE have responded to the news by insisting there are “no plans” to bring the hit gangland drama back.
“In relation to rumours about a possible sixth series of Love/Hate,” a RTE spokesperson said.

“There are no plans to bring back Love/Hate at this time.”
It was previously reported that the hit series was in development with the focus being on Patrick, the pipe bomber who notoriously took down Nidge.
“While scenes are not yet being filmed, locations and new talent are being scouted for Love/Hate’s big comeback,” a source said.
“Bringing the focus to Patrick and his background will open up the show to a whole new legion of fans.”
