So it's NOT Laura Whitmore! Caroline Flack confirmed as host of Love Island

Laura Whitmore will not be hosting the new series of Love Island.

The former MTV star was tipped to be presenting the revamp of the show on ITV this summer, but now former Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack has been confirmed.

Although Caroline is already said to be co-hosting the X Factor with Olly Murs this year, the brunette announced the news today.

“I can’t wait to host the revamped Love Island. I was a massive fan of the original show, and I’m sure this is going to be one crazy love fuelled island,” she said.

“I can’t really think of a better way to spend a summer – here’s hoping it’s a scorcher!”

After announcing she was leaving MTV News for good, rumours were rife that Laura was set to become the host of the dating show that previously starred Calum Best, Sophie Anderton and Bianca Gascoigne.

The popular show was originally presented by Patrick Kielty and Kelly Brook, with Fearne Cotton replacing Brook in the second series.
