Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe hits back at trolls: ‘Bodyshaming is toxic behaviour’

Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe has hit back at trolls: “Bodyshaming is toxic behaviour.”

The 24-year-old posted a TikTok video quoting the cruel comments that had been left under her previous social media videos.

The influencer is the daughter of Hollywood A-lister Reese and her famous ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.

On her Instagram stories, Ava shared a picture of her and her pup Benji and wrote: “Bodyshaming is toxic behavior, (Asked Benji and he agrees).”

“So maybe just… don’t do that??”

In her TikTok video she quipped: “[No big deal] but I just achieved a major milestone as a woman online…I saw two different strangers commenting on my body.”

“The first said I should get on [Ozempic] because I’m too fat…The second accused me of starving myself because I’m too thin…”

“My weight did not change in the time period between their comments,” she added, noting that “it wouldn’t be any of their business if it did!”

“It’s such bullsh–,”

“No one deserves to be picked apart for what they look like. You don’t always know what someone’s gone through or what they struggle with, but no matter who you are… your beauty exceeds superficial measures.”

“Pretty is as pretty does, babes…& bodyshaming is simply toxic behavior, #loveyouasyouare.”

Ava also added that these comments are primarily directed “disproportionately to young girls & women,” but added: “bodyshaming is toxic no matter who the subject is. We all deserve to feel safe & at peace in the vessel we live in.”

In December 2021, Ava spoke with E! News about her approach to social media: “What is that going to mean to somebody else? What does it mean to me? Is this helpful? Is it important? Is it charitable? Is it something I want the world to see from me?” she said at the time.

“I do have a platform of some sort, for sure, and I want to be conscious of what I am posting,” she added. “I might not always get it right but I’m always going to try my best to put good out there.”
