Mother's Day feature: Our Top 10 favourite celeb mums

It’s officially Mother’s Day weekend and while it’s all about ourr Mammies this weekend, Goss.ie thought it would be fitting to bring you the list of our favourite Irish mothers.

Now we know that there are no harder working people on this Earth than an Irish mammy and if we could, we’d put every single one of them on this list.

Sadly, we can’t squeeze them all in here – so instead we give you our Top 10 favourite celeb mums this country has to offer.

1. Una Foden

Una, meet The Fodens.

The Saturdays star Una Foden first became a mum in  March 2012 when she gave birth to daughter Aoife Belle.

The Tipperary beauty got married just a few months later in the Summer to rugby player Ben Foden.

The happy couple recently added to their brood once more with son Tadhg born in February.

Una posted a picture of their latest addition this week, and she said her “heart could burst”, and we think ours could do.

With a sports star for a Dad and a pop star for a Mum, those are two kids who are definitely destined for success.

2. Karen Koster

Mother’s Day is perhaps most exciting for those who only just became mums recently.

Xpose presenter Karen Koster is one of those lucky ladies – having her first child, a boy named Finn on New Years Eve.

The TV3 star has been gushing over her little man ever since and Finn has already had his first taste of the limelight – making his TV debt on Xpose at just six days old.

In a world full of increasingly unusual celeb baby names, we admire Karen for picking something a little more down to earth.

She’s already started opening up about breast feeding, and admitted she prefers it to gossiping these days – now that’s a true mammy.

3. Amy Huberman

Actress Amy Huberman welcomed her first son Billy into the world last November and with daughter Sadie already in tow, this is sure to be her best Mother’s Day yet.

Brian O’Driscoll’s better half recently admitted her second pregnancy was “pretty miserable”.

“I had the dreaded ‘all-day sickness’; I was one of those women who had to run to the toilet every five minutes,” she said.

Despite the tough pregnancy, Amy was already back just a few weeks later in January and the Dublin native is someone working mums everywhere can admire.

She’s often spotted out and about with her brood, especially around Dublin cafe Balfes, we love that she’s such a hands on mum!

4. Pippa O’Connor

Another celeb on our list celebrating her first Mother’s Day as a mum is Pippa O’Connor.

The Kildare model and husband Brian Ormond welcomed son Ollie into the world last April and Pippa admitted the first few weeeks after were a “hormonal rollercoaster”.

The TV star has endured a tough time recently after losing her own Mum last October from a suspected heart attack.

But hopefully this will be a happy weekend celebrating mother’s day with Ollie and Brian.

 5. Miriam O’Callaghan

Saturday Night with Miriam

No Mother’s Day list would be complete without Miriam O’Callaghan.

The RTE presenter has quite the large brood, with eight kids under her belt – four boys and four girls.

Miriam previously admitted that as a child she was given a Tiny Tears doll as a present which fascinated her so much – she thinks it’s the reason she went on to have so many kids herself.

“She was a Tiny Tears and she used to cry and had a nappy, I loved that present and maybe that’s why I went on to have loads of babies myself,” she said.

 6. Yvonne Keating

A cooking queen, acting manager and former model – Yvonne Keating is the mum everyone wants.

The mother-of-three recently admitted she is “madly in love” with her cameraman beau John Conroy but nothing can compare to the love for her children.

Always making time for her kids, Yvonne is on our list for still looking fantastic while running around as a busy mum.

From helping her daughters Ali and Missy getting into acting to moving into a new house with the whole family, Yvonne is one busy lady.

7. Samantha Mumba

The newest member of the celeb mum club is Samantha Mumba.

The pop star gave birth to daughter Sage just two weeks ago and shared an adorable snap of her bundle of joy on Instagram.

Simply captioning the photo “my girl” the Dublin singer is already head over heels in love with her new baby.

Samantha had thought about being a mother well ahead of time and has plans to pen an email to her daughter ever year on her birthday to create a virtual time capsule.

With plans like that, we have no doubt the singer’s first Mother’s Day with Sage will be very special.

8. Edele Lynch

This Mother’s Day may be a tough one for Edele Lynch.

It will be her first since splitting from husband of eight years, Michael Barrett, after the pair parted ways last year.

Edele followed the split with an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother and cosied up to to Gogglebox star George Gilbey.

But with three adorable kids at home, the B*witched star still has plenty to be thankful for.

9. Cecelia Ahern

Cecelia Ahern is one of our favourite Irish women – let alone mothers.

The author is known for her hard work ethic, so much so that she returned to work just ten weeks after having son Sonny in 2013.

Cecelia later admitted it was tough adjusting to a second child after already having daughter Robin.

However, things are looking up again for the PS I Love You author, who clearly loves being a mum.

“Now they’re funny, Sonny’s running around and they’re bouncing off each other, so it’s good,” she said.

10. Jennifer Maguire

Ok, so technically Jennifer Maguire is not a mum yet.

But the TV star is already several days overdue so she could well be a mum any minute now and we already think she’s the perfect mammy.

The Republic of Telly star is such a hard worker that she only left 2FM on Thursday – two days after her due date.

With a work ethic like that running in the family, Jennifer’s baby is certainly destined for the perfect life.
