Lady Gaga has paid a heartfelt tribute to the Irish designer behind some of her most eccentric headwear.
The US singer has worn everything from a telephone, to a diamond-encrusted lobster, to Minnie Mouse ears on her head.
And Gaga has celebrity milliner Philip Treacy to thank for all of that – as she met up with him backstage at the O2 in London where she was playing.

She said: “I feel so lucky the number of brilliant people that I’ve been blessed to know. Philip Treacy is in the genius category, both creative and kind.
“We laughed for hours last night, the best type of London moment, with those you love.”
The Poker Face star has been so taken by the Galway designer’s out-there hats that she described him as the “greatest milliner in the world” when introducing his collection previously.

And Gaga – who is especially known for wearing his telephone headpiece in 2010 – even asked him for an internship before.
At the time, a spokesperson for Philip said: “Lady Gaga has requested an internship but Philip will have to check her sewing skills first.”

Previously he also said that Gaga was “young, talented and peculiar, which I really like who often sends him requests by text.
He said: “Sometimes I would get messages saying, ‘I want a red hat today’… so I make a red hat.”
Other stars he has worked for include Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Madonna.
