Eurovision's Molly Sterling to postpone Leaving Cert to pursue music dream

Eurovision semi-finalist Molly Sterling has revealed she’s plans to postpone her Leaving Cert to pursue music.

The 17-year-old admitted although she won’t be sitting her exams next June, she won’t be taking it easy.

“I’m not the kind of person that will just sit there and do nothing, I’ve got a real compulsive mind,” she said.

The blonde beauty revealed she wants to learn from the best in the music industry.

“I want to be sponge and just improve and play, but mainly write,” she revealed.

“What I want to do a lot of is just spend time with other musicians and learn from them.”

The Tipperary native, who was the youngest ever Irish contestant at the Eurovision Song Contest, admitted although she was disappointed not to reach the final she learnt so much.

“It felt like we had so much support but it was good to learn,” she divulged.

“You can do really well and have so much belief in what you doing and have an amazing team around you and a good song and you can still lose.”

The Playing by Names singer is currently working on her EP and revealed she knows she has what it takes to make it.

“I know a lot of people would say I’m only a kid how would I know what I want to do,” she told the Herald.

“But I know what I want and I have the facilities there.”
