It’s definitely shaping up to be great year for our favourite flame-haired actor Domhnall Gleeson as he is in talks to join Tom Cruise in new drama, Mena.
The film title refers to Mena, Arkansas, the epi-centre of action in the extraordinary life of Barry Seal, the focus of the film.
The film follows Barry Seal (Cruise), a TWA pilot recruited by the CIA to become a spy and informant reporting on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America, according to Variety.

Barry finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the U.S., encountering infamous names like Pablo Escobar and Jorge Luis Ochoa Vásquez to expose political corruption in Nicaragua – kicking off the Iran Contra scandal.
It is not known what role the Malahide native is in talks to play in the film directed by Doug Liman if the deal closes.
Gleeson has hit the ground running this year with both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio, both released at Christmas.
