Bono thanks Swedish Police after concert security breach

Bono has expressed his gratitude for Swedish police’s help during Sunday night’s security breach at their Stockholm gig.

The show which was cancelled after a man reportedly posing as an off duty police officer was allowed into the city’s Globe Arena with a handgun – was rescheduled for tonight.

“We’re very, very pleased to be in Stockholm and actually playing a show,” said Bono.

“You might have heard, we had a security breach last night. I must say our audience handled it brilliantly, real cool….”

Speaking at last night’s concert, the frontman also paid tribute to the Swedish police for looking after their dedicated fans.

“We have a message to the police, ‘Thank you for being cautious and for taking care of our audience and the band’,” he revealed.

“It was hard to cancel the show last night but it was the right thing to do… and guess what, we get to stay here for an extra night.”
