Denise McCormack has opened up about being cast in Love/Hate – admitting she fought hard to get it.
The Red Rock actress played Fran’s wife Linda, who had the notorious affair with Nidge in the hit crime drama, revealed she pestered casting director Maureen Hughes for an audition.
“Originally they were looking for a 21-year-old for that part,” she said.

“I had a tenuous connection to Tom and I knew if he’s that age, she didn’t have to be 21. I knew it would work.
“I got my agent to ring Maureen and ring and ring and finally she said to come in,”
After bagging an audition, Denise recalled the experience – admitting she got into character and went in with her boobs “bursting out”.

“I went in looking like Linda, the spray tan, hair extensions, the boobs were bursting out,” she admitted.
“I got out of the car and there were lots of builders outside the casting agency and here I was clippedly clop, Linda in the tight short skirt and high heels.
“I got the part the next day, I knew I’d have to fight and not let go and it’s not in my nature to do that but in the industry you have to,” she told the Herald.
