Star Wars: The Force Awakens has broken records at the Irish box office with takings rising to more than €6million in a month.
The seventh episode of the film franchise has become the fifth most successful movie of all time in Ireland – after making more than €214,000 a day.
The JJ Abrams directed feature looks set to overtake Avatar, the most successful movie in Irish cinema, having taken a mega €8,702,770 in 2009.

According to the Sun, the much-loved film is now third in the all-time list of box office smashes with $1.75billion in takings globally.
