Gay Byrne has admitted that the Late Late Show still works because it’s live with “with and all”.
Different from other British and American offerings, the legendary broadcaster insisted the RTE stalwart still holds a unique position in the chat-show world.
“You must remember that all other shows in this particular classification, they are all recorded, cut down and edited,” he said.

“The best is left in and the worst is chopped out. But the The Late Late Show is still a live programme, so you have to take it warts and all.
“And in any live programme there are warts. That’s what makes it different,” he told RSVP Magazine.
Meanwhile, the TV veteran revealed he is returning to work weeks after his recent health scare.
