Everything we know so far about Bridgerton season 2

Season 2 of Bridgerton is coming to Netflix on Friday, March 25.

The period drama, which premiered on Christmas Day 2020, is one of the streaming giant’s most popular shows of all time.

It has already been renewed for a third and fourth season, so fans of the show have a lot to look forward to.

Set in 19th century London, the series follows eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family, as they attempt to find love.

While season 1 focused on Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and her romance with Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Rege Jean Page), the second season will focus on Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest for love.

Anthony’s love interest in this new season of the show is played by none other then Sex Educations Simone Ashley,  who will star as Kate Sharma.

Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, Ruth Gemmell, Polly Walker, Adjoa Andoh, Jessica Madsen, Golda Rosheuvel and Ruby Barker will also reprise their roles for the second season.

Sadly, Regé-Jean Page will not return as the Duke of Hastings, but he will still be referred to in the show.

Charitha Chandran, Calam Lynch, Shelley Conn, and Rupert Young also join the cast for the new season.

The trailer for the new season dropped earlier this month, and it starts with narration by gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, voiced by Julie Andrews.

She says: “Dearest gentle reader. Did you miss me?”

Lady Whistledown, who was revealed to be Penelope Featherington in the first season, also teases she’s been “sharpening her knifes”.

Producer and showrunner Chris Van Dusen has teased the show’s second season will be “even greater” than the first, while Nicola Coughlan said season two will be “a whole lot spicier”.
