Katie Taylor confirms next fight date and major opponent

Katie Taylor has confirmed her much-anticipated rematch against Amanda Serrano.

The two-weight undisputed champion will face Serrano again on July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on the undercard of Jake Paul v Mike Tyson.

The Bray native confirmed the news on social media today.

Taylor defeated the Puerto Rican boxer via split decision at Madison Square Garden in New York in April 2022.

Their bout was the biggest fight in women’s boxing history, as it was the first time a female fight had headlined a card at the iconic venue.

Katie said: “This is the rematch the world has wanted to see.”

“The first fight in New York was obviously an epic occasion and it more than lived up to the billing, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different.”

Serrano said: “I promised my fans they would see this rematch after we made history at MSG and it feels like a dream come true to know that Katie and I are finally making it happen on the biggest stage possible to show the world what elite women’s boxing is all about.”

“While my focus continues to be on giving women the choice to fight with the same rules as men, I’ve always said that this is the one fight I’d go back to 10×2 for.”

In a huge move for boxing fans, the fight will be streamed on Netflix at no extra cost for its subscribers.
