Red Rock’s Jane McGrath has insisted that the soap isn’t trying to take on Love/Hate or Fair City.
The TV star believes that both are extremely different from TV3’s new programme, which begins on Monday.
And despite coming just weeks after Love/Hate was revealed to be taking a week long break – while it has a police storyline, fans of Nidge will be disappointed.

She said:Â “It’s totally different. Love/Hate is Love/Hate. Red Rock is Red Rock. They’re extremely different shows and different formats, different stories.”
And Jane added to the Irish Independent that she doesn’t believe the cast of Red Rock and Fair City will be fighting.
She said: “I don’t think there’s any rivalry. We’re on at 8.30pm and I think Fair City is before that, so you could watch both of them and they’re totally different stories.

“I was only talking to a friend yesterday about Fair City. Our show is only on twice a week and at the moment I am still struggling to learn my lines.
“I think you have to be a pretty phenomenal actor to do something like Fair City. I know a lot of them over there and I just really admire them so much.
“They just keep the story going, keep the stakes high, keep the energy going. It’s all go, go, go.”
