Samantha Mumba reckons her daughter Sage will follow in her footsteps as a singer

Samantha Mumba reckons her daughter Sage could follow in her footsteps as a singer.

The 34-year-old, who rose to fame in the 90s as a pop star, has admitted that her two-year-old daughter has definitely inherited her love of music.

“The world is hers, whatever she wants to do. She is very musical and she has amazing rhythm, she loves it.

“It’s not like I’m sitting at home going, ‘let’s play Mammy’s single’, but she could be anything, you never know,” she told the Herald.

The singer has become a familiar face again in recent times, as she nabbed a gig presenting on TV3’s The Six O’Clock Show while regular host Lucy Kennedy is on maternity leave – after appearing on Celebrity Masterchef earlier this year.

However, with just two weeks to go until Lucy returns, Samantha is unsure about what she’ll do next, “I’m not too sure. There’s different things being planned at the moment so I’m figuring things out right now.”

Samantha usually resides in Los Angeles with her husband Torray Scales, but admitted that her family loved having her home in Ireland for a few months.

“It’s so great to have been here and I think my family are happy that I’ve been focusing on being at home. It started last year. I came for three weeks and then stayed for the summer and then just carried it on into this year,” she added.
