Britney Spears to perform at MTV VMA’s for first time in TEN YEARS

Britney Spears will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards this year, for the first time since 2007.

The blonde beauty revealed the exciting news in an Instagram video, confirming that she would perform at Madison Square Garden in NYC on August 28.

The clip shows the snake from her famous 2001 I’m A Slave 4 U VMAs performance slithering around a dressing room – and you can spot her red PVC catsuit from Oops I Did It Again, and THAT wedding dress she donned in 2003 when she performed with Madonna and Christina Aguilera.

In the video, you can hear Britney saying, “The VMAs don’t just give you a stage. They give you a story – some way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever. Before you know it, it’s history. Before you know it, it’s Britney, bitch!”

It’s not just a stage. It’s a story… @mtv #VMAs August 28.

The 34-year-old will perform her new single Make Me with rapper G-Eazy, the first track from her latest album Glory.

Meanwhile, Rihanna is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s VMAs.

The Work singer will be honoured for her “decade-long impact on music, pop culture, fashion, film and philanthropy.”

Britney Spears previously received the prestigious award, as well as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce.

“Rihanna’s unparalleled output of hits have spawned some of today’s most memorable music videos from ‘Umbrella’ to ‘We Found Love,’ ‘Diamonds’ and her most recent collaboration with Drake on ‘Work’,” MTV explained.
