Love Island’s Chloe Burrows ‘in tears’ after admitting she ‘faked a showmance’ with fellow reality star

Chloe Burrows has admitted to “faking a showmance” with Too Hot To Handle star Harry Johnson.

The 28-year-old was recently papped on dates with the Netflix personality, however, Chloe has since confirmed it was all a ruse.

In a new documentary, Love In The Limelight: UNTOLD, the Love Island star sets out to investigate the money celebrity couples can make through the media from showmances.

In the documentary, Chloe spoke with two Love Island couples, Liam Reardon and Millie Court plus Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey, who both admitted to faking arguments with the aim of getting photographed.

The 28-year-old was inspired to fake a romance with another reality star after hearing there was a possibility of making £250k a year.

She then decided to set up photographs of her out and about with Harry, in the hopes people would assume they were together.

Harry won the third season of Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle back in 2022.

In the documentary, she said: “Now I’ve heard how it all works and the big money involved, I want to put it to the test, it’s time to launch my own showmance.”

“If I really was going to be serious, that is so easy to make money off. You can start to see the web of finances that can go behind a reality couple.”

Chloe and Harry met with celebrity agent Dave Read, who looks after the likes of Joey Essex and Hannah Elizabeth, and he advised them to set up photographs house-hunting or ring shopping.

He told them: “There’s no reason that between you in one year you couldn’t bank a quarter of a million pounds.”

On the day of her documentary’s release on Channel 4, Chloe wrote: “GUYS!!! 😭 Cannot believe I’m writing this but today marks the launch of my first documentary with @channel4 Untold strand where I explore what life is like for some of our most well-known reality couples living out their romances in the public eye.”

“Oh yes…and those paparazzi picture you saw of me and @harryjohnson92 lurking around the press might be part of the plot too!!! / massive huge part… faked a whole showmance!!!”

“Huge thank you to the amazing team at @flickerproductions for supporting me from start to finish on this one, I couldn’t have done it without you!”

“Love in the Limelight is available to stream today on Channel 4, can’t wait to hear what you all think. Love from Chloe xxx,” she added.

After the documentary was released, she took to Instagram again to thank her fans for their response with a snap of her in tears.

She wrote: “Crying happy tears in the back of this cab cos I’m already overwhelmed by the response. Love u lot xxxx.”

“P.S. I know I said I’d never post a vid crying but happy tears are allowed!” she joked.

After Chloe and Harry were spotted together, the Too Hot Too Handle star shockingly gained around 18,000 followers.

She confessed to The Sun: “I was so shocked by that, I had never thought of that – that being with someone on Love Island would give you followers but it is definitely something to consider in the future. Do you want me or do you want 18,000 followers?”

“I’m not in the right place right now to be looking at boys and thinking about stuff like that.”

“I think in the future if I don’t have a relationship again, yeah, it’s going to blow my mind like what – 18,000 followers. Do you know how many people that is? It’s that’s like a concert,” she added.
