Meghan Markle has been unveiled as the cover star of the 310th anniversary issue of Tatler magazine.
The special edition of the magazine goes on sale on October 31st.
The Duchess of Sussex can be seen on the pared-back cover in a photo taken back in 2015 by business publication Bay Street Bull, to feature alongside an interview about her now defunct website The Tig.
Editor-in-Chief of Tatler Richard Dennen told The Daily Mail: “It was fascinating delving into the archives for this anniversary issue and seeing how the cast of characters has changed. ”
“Dynasties rise and fall, new money sashays in, celebrities of the day dazzle. As the Duchess of Sussex knows well, every generation has its struggles – but it’s always cool to be on the right side of history.”
Detailing why he chose her image for the cover, he said: “I think the Duchess of Sussex is fabulous.”
“I love that she is independent and not afraid of doing things her own way.”
“I like her fashion choices, which are chic, sophisticated and grown-up, and the way she is bringing a breath of California cool to the drab and dusty corridors of the old guard.”
The original image which appeared on the Bay Street Bull saw Meghan wearing a large pair of gold earrings, which appear to have been photoshopped out of the Tatler cover.
