The battle has begun for Ray D’Arcy’s lucrative spot on Today FM.
The radio presenter shocked the country when he decided to leave the station to return to RTE, without even saying goodbye to his listeners.
Ray’s new show on RTE Radio 1 will begin in February, and Today FM are already rushing to replace him.

Station insiders have now tipped Newstalk host Sean Moncrieff and 2FM star Hector O’hEochagain to replace Ray.
“If Today FM hired Hector, it would be like lighting a petrol bomb in midmorning
radio. He would be an instant hit,” an insider told the Sun.
Radio and TV presenter Anton Savage has also been mentioned as a possible replacement.
Meanwhile bosses at the station uploaded a job description today, calling for new talent.
The official Today FM Twitter account shared this picture asking for radio presenters to apply by this Friday.
