Paloma Faith interview: How I became pals with Robert Sheehan by swapping celebrity sex stories

Quirky Paloma Faith has told how she has become best mates with Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan – because they’re both naughty.

The Can’t Rely On You star told Goss.ie they are the “naughty kids” when they get together at parties after first meeting at a Louis Vuitton bash.

And Paloma – who was also interviewed by him about being a man – enjoyed spending their first encounter swapping stories about celebrities having sex.

“He interviewed me about what I’d be like if I was a man. We get on really well, we’d be mates. He’s very naughty – and so am I,” she told Goss.ie.

“That’s why we get on, we’re like the naughty kids. If we see each other, he’s like: ‘Thank God! Somebody to get in trouble with!’

“We met at a party. I get invited to all these celebrity parties all the time, and I don’t usually like them. But I got invited to quite a special one, a Louis Vuitton one.

“And I wanted to go to it by myself, because I wanted to test to see if I had a better time if I was on my own. Because sometimes, if you take a friend, you feel like you’ve got to look after them all the time.

“I just thought, ‘Maybe it’d be easier if I went alone.’ So I met him at that party… he couldn’t believe that I’d gone by myself. I ended up getting mad stories about celebrities who had sex with each other, it was great.”

Speaking at the Groove Festival, Paloma also blasted Guinness for scrapping Arthur’s Day, insisting its replacement will be more of a boozefest.

She played the Diageo-run event in 2011, and insisted it wasn’t just an excuse to get drunk as critics had claimed.

“That’s sad they’ve cancelled it. I had a great time playing at it. I didn’t get offered a single pint of Guinness when I played at at, not one.

“I kept saying, ‘Why has no-one given me a pint of Guinness?’ So I can tell you it’s not a boozefest. I thought it fun, it was a really good line-up, I remember.”

And Paloma admitted she fears its month-long replacement Guinness Amplify – which mainly focuses on emerging acts – will lead to people drinking more.

She said: “I think they should mix both emerging and big name acts. You should have emerging musicians opening for well known people so they’re actually seen.

“Because if you just have emerging musicians then it does become a boozefest because people will just get pissed and not listen. They wouldn’t want to watch.”
