Aslan to cancel comeback gig: 'Christy's health takes priority over everything else'

Irish rockers Aslan have been forced to cancel another gig as frontman Christy Dignam tries to regain his health.

The legendary group have revealed they decided not to play at Dublin’s The Button Factory to give the singer a chance to get back to full health.

“With Christy still battling to get his health back to 100%, we have decided it is in his interest to cancel all forthcoming gigs.

“Refunds are available from point of purchase. We hope you understand that Christy’s health takes priority over everything else,” the statement said.

It has been a tough month for the 53-year-old singer, who was undergoing urgent tests in Beaumont Hospital after he suffered terrifying seizures at his Dublin home.

Since 2013, the 53-year-old singer was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer  – myeloma and amyloidosis, and is now in remission.
