He’s taking over Glen Hansard’s role when he makes his West End debut in Once later this year.
And this video proves that Ronan Keating has the talent to pull off the role – as he performs Falling Slowly.
The Boyzone star has been working around the clock ahead of starting in the critically acclaimed musical, inspired by the Glen Hansard movie, in November.
This performance of Falling Slowly comes from Girls Aloud star Kimberly Walsh’s solo album – and is understood to have persuaded producers he was perfect for the role.
Recently Ronan – who called it “incredible news” to be going onto the West End – admitted it was going to be a scary experience.

And Ronan admitted that his own life as a musician will help him prepare for the role.
“The character’s a musician and I’ve spent 20 years trying to be Ronan Keating the musician, so I guess I can spend four months playing another character,” he said.
