Watch: Janet Devlin gets ready to release her latest music video from debut album

Janet Devlin has unveiled her brand new music video.

Whisky Lullabies comes from her solo album Running With Scissors.

The former X Factor star recorded the song in both English and Irish and revealed the lyrics are highly personal.

“Whisky Lullabies’ was the last song I wrote for my album. Because it’s such a personal song I almost didn’t let myself write it,” she said.

“But I’m glad I did because it became my favourite song from Running With Scissors.”

“The song actually talks about how, as a child, you always have someone around to ask you if you’re alright – then as you grow older, you may forget to ask yourself the same question.”

The Tyrone native also felt it was important to her to record the song in Irish.

“I wanted to re-record the track in Gaelic; ‘Suantraí Meisciúil’, as I love the different vowels and sounds of the Irish language.”

“I’d like to continue to record in Gaelic whenever possible, but this was a challenge, as I’d not spoken the language in many years,” she admitted.
