Sony music was the victim of yet another hack – and this time it involved Britney Spears.
The record label has been forced to apologise after their Twitter account was hacked and they falsley announced that Britney Spears was dead.
“RIP @britneyspears,” the Tweet read, causing fans all over the world to go into a frenzy.

To make matters worse, another Tweet was then sent from the account giving more information.
“Britney Spears dead by accident! We will tell you more soon,” they added.
A group called OurMine claimed responsibility for the hacking, who have previously hacked the accounts of Marvel and Netflix.
Sony Music later Tweeted an apology and explained that they were hacked. “Sony Music apologizes to Britney Spears and her fans for any confusion,” they said in a statement.
It comes just one day after George Michael passed away of heart failure.
