Jimmy Kimmel has been revealed as the next host of the 2017 Academy Awards.
The Academy Awards is hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), and this year will be it’s 90th awards.
Comedian Chris Rock hosted the awards in February earlier this year, the same year Leonardo DiCaprio won his first ever Oscar.

It won’t be a new task to the chat show host as he’s previously hosted other major award shows such as the ESPY Awards in 2007.
The American has also hosted the the American Music Awards in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Jimmy took to Twitter to confirm that he is hosting the Oscars in 2017, and the news is definitely NOTÂ a prank.

The Oscars take place on February 26th.
