One of the industry’s most in-love couples has hit a new low, and it’s unclear whether they will recover or split for good.
Rumours were rife last week after the Bad Romance singer was spotted in Malibu without her flashy engagement ring, and now Gaga has confirmed the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post.
The 30-year-old shared a picture of the pair with their arms thrown around each other, “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break,” the singer wrote.
Gaga continued, “We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”
The couple hadn’t been pictured together recently, and Gaga hadn’t shared any pictures of her man for over a month, with source telling People that their crazy schedules have kept them apart.
“She’s working on an album, he’s working on his show, they aren’t in the same state, it was just hard,” the source explained. “They both love each other very much and they want it to work. It’s just been tough with the long distance.”
The pair met on the set of her video for You & I, and Taylor proposed in 2015 after 5 years together.
“I really can’t imagine living with anyone other than who I’m with right now,” Gaga told Howard Stern before the proposal. “He is the right guy. I have that feeling. I just know it.”
It seems Lady Gaga and Taylor have split for now, but we’re still rooting for these two.
