Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson have responded to engagement rumours.
The former Love Islander and the Made In Chelsea star first started dating in 2019, but briefly split in 2020.
Ever since they rekindled their romance, the couple have been plagued with rumours they are secretly engaged.
But in a new interview with OK! Magazine, Zara and Sam insisted they are in no rush to walk down the aisle.
Zara, 25, explained: “We’re in such a good place. There’s no need to rush or change anything, because I wouldn’t be with Sam if I didn’t want to be with him forever.”
“And when [an engagement] happens, it happens. If that’s in five months or five years, I really don’t mind. I genuinely trust that timing is everything.”
Sam added: “All I need to know is that Zara is going to say yes.”
Zara went on to say: “Even if me and Sam broke up and I got with someone else, there’d be engagement rumours again within three minutes. This has been going on for us for years.”
“People want to see you fast-track your relationship but you’ve got to remember what’s right for you.”
Zara and Sam dramatically split in August 2020, after Sam found out Zara hooked up with someone else during the early stages of their relationship.
At the time, it was reported that Zara cheated with someone “in the music industry”, around the same time she took part in the celebrity version of The X Factor in 2019.
The couple later rekindled their romance, and have been happier than ever since.
