Wes Nelson has broken his silence over his split announcement with Megan Barton-Hanson.
The 24-year-old announced her split from her fellow Love Island star yesterday and used Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s statement from 2014 to announce the news.
Megan jokingly used their hamster to fill in a part of the statement that was about the celebrities’ children and said: “We are parents first and foremost to one incredibly wonderful hamster and we ask for his and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.”
While Wes kept quiet on social media following the announcement, he has now taken to Instagram to joke about their hamster.
The 20-year-old shared a meme of a hamster staring into a camera, as the captioned read: “Megan and Wes’ hamster realising it now comes from a broken home”.
Wes added: “You guys are f***ing quick ????????♂️????”.
The reality star’s Insta Story comes after Megan also joked about the split online, as she shared a video laughing with her mother and said: “What did you say? There’s always a lobster for someone? I need to hurry up and find my f***ing lobster, I’m getting old!”
Following the announcement of their split, the 24-year-old also told fans that she will still be supporting Wes at Dancing on Ice tonight and even added: “Come on Wes and Vanessa!”
