Unnamed BBC presenter ‘extremely angry’ as fresh allegations made against them

Over the weekend, an unnamed presenter at the BBC was accused of paying a teenager for sexually explicit images.

The allegations were first reported by The Sun newspaper, who interviewed the alleged victim’s mother.

The well-known figure was accused of paying over £35,000 (€40,944) to the person, who is now 20 years old.

It was alleged the anonymous star began the payments when the person was 17.

It has since been reported that the unnamed BBC star is “extremely angry” as he now faces allegations from four people.

According to The Sun, a 23-year-old has claimed that the presenter broke COVID-19 lockdown rules to meet them in February 2021.

The unnamed star is alleged to have travelled to the person’s home at a time when COVID-19 restrictions prevented people from meeting anyone outside their household or bubble.

“I was quite shocked that he broke the rules to come and meet me because of who he is. I was just a random person online,” the 23-year-old said.

The publication claimed it had seen messages suggesting the unnamed presenter sent cash in return for a semi-naked photo.

Three payments were allegedly made to their PayPal account – £200 on the day of the visit, alongside two other transactions of £200 and £250.

In another instance, the outlet published messages which the BBC star allegedly sent to a 17-year-old (now 22) after a conversation began through Instagram back in October 2018.

The now-22-year-old said: “Looking back now it does seem creepy because he was messaging me when I was still at school.”

Elsewhere, a person in their early 20s came forward with a complaint about the unnamed presenter.

Speaking to BBC News, they said they’d felt threatened by BBC star.

They were allegedly contacted anonymously by the man on a dating app; it has been said that they were pressured to meet up, but never followed through.

Journalist Jon Sopel has claimed the BBC star is “extremely angry” over the allegations against them.

Speaking to The News Agents podcast, the former BBC News correspondent said: “A number of people have been in touch with the presenter to say they feel righteous fury over the way [the story] has [been] covered and it is fair to say that the presenter at the heart of this is also extremely angry over a lot of [the] coverage and is convinced they’re trying to dig and find new dirt to harm this particular person’s reputation.”
