Olympic swimmer and Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has split from his girlfriend Eirianedd Munro after three years together.
The 27-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday to apologise to his ex and their son George for “letting them down”, as he confirmed the break-up.
He wrote: “Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways. We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.”

“Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship,” Adam continued.
“I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years.”
“Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down. My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further.”

Eirianedd also shared a statement to her Instagram Story, which read: “The last three years have been so, so amazing. Our little family has experienced so much laughter and love and joy. You guys have been such a significant part of that!”
“This next chapter of my life is surely going to be an incredibly difficult one. I would appreciate that people would refrain from commenting, speculating or messaging. I have shared so much of my life, but for now I’m choosing privacy and I hope that you will all respect that.”
“I love and appreciate you all so much and I’m so thankful for all the fun and opportunities you’ve given me.”
“I am going to be taking a break from social media, so goodbye for now. Thank you so much for everything.”
The news of Adam and Eirianedd’s split comes after the Olympic swimmer’s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing last year.
Adam had been partnered with pro dancer Katya Jones and the pair raised eyebrows with their chemistry on the dance floor.
Fans frenzied after they thought the pair nearly kissed at the end of one dance routine.
Eirianedd admitted she had been “really emotional” about the “near kiss”.
She told fans she took a “short break” from social media after the incident.
On TikTok, Eirianedd said: “I did take a little bit of a break. I want to say thank you to everyone, it actually makes me really emotional, to everyone who has been really nice to me because last week was a lot.”
“I want to say I appreciate people. Even if it’s a thousand nice comments and one mean one, it’s just so easy to feel like the world is against you, and it did feel like that for a while, and then I had a reality check and I remembered that I’m not that important.”
“But, you guys, you made me feel so much better, those who were checking up on me and those who were commenting, I appreciate you. Thank you, you saved my life.”
