New documentary set to celebrate the life of late Big Brother star Nikki Grahame

Channel 4 will celebrate the life of Nikki Grahame in a new documentary.

The 28-year-old, who shot to fame on Big Brother back in 2006, died on April 9 following a long battle with anorexia.

The new documentary will show that “behind the bright and funny media persona, Nikki was a complex woman who bravely battled anorexia for over 30 years”.

The documentary will feature interviews from her mother Sue, as well as other family members and friends.

Sue said: “Nikki was so much more than a reality TV contestant and I am looking forward to celebrating her short life in this documentary.”

She added that it will “be tough, but Nikki was one special girl. Kind and smart with the biggest heart”.

Executive producer Ollie Durrant said: “We are honoured to be making this important film with Nikki’s family and friends.”

“She was an amazingly kind, caring person who despite her own struggles, worked tirelessly to raise awareness of anorexia and the exponential rise of mental health issues in society today.”

“We hope this film is a fitting tribute to her legacy,” he added.

Nikki was admitted to Dorset County Hospital in March to undergo treatment for her eating disorder.

The reality star stayed there for three weeks before being discharged on April 8.

One day later, Nikki was found dead at her home in London.
